Upgrading from version 1
Install version 2 over version 1. That's it: everyone keeps their progress.
What happens
Version 2 uses the same pack UUIDs, so it replaces version 1 in place. The first time the world loads with version 2:
- Everyone's unlocked advancements are imported, with their original dates.
- Partial progress comes too: biomes visited, foods eaten, animals bred, cats and wolves tamed, blocks waxed, emeralds traded.
- Advancement lecterns keep working.
Version 1's data is left where it was, so if you go back to version 1, it still has everything.
Steps
- Back up the world.
- Import the version 2
.mcaddon. Minecraft replaces the old packs in the world, since the version is newer. - Open the world. Players see their advancements as soon as they join.
What's new
- Tabs across the top of the screen, and hidden advancements that only show once they're done, as in Java.
- The Bedrock Achievements tab is off by default in new worlds. An upgraded world keeps the setting it had in version 1. Operators change it under Settings in the admin menu.
- 29 languages.
- The plugin system and the creator, for adding your own tabs and advancements.
- The admin menu is rebuilt, with one screen per job.
