Frequently asked questions
The questions we get most.

Where's the Minecraft tab?
As in Java, a tab appears once its first advancement is done. For the Minecraft tab, get a crafting table.
Where are the Bedrock achievements?
Their tab is off by default. An operator turns it on in /ba:admin → Settings.
Can advancements be posted to Discord?
Yes, on a dedicated server or a Realm, through BedrockRelay. Set up BedrockRelay, turn on its Other addons event for a channel, then switch on Discord posts in /ba:admin → Settings. See Discord in the admin guide.
An advancement didn't trigger. Why?
Check the advancement's tooltip for exactly what it needs. In Creative, progress is off unless an operator allows it. On the standard edition, structures are recognised from their blocks, so stand well inside the structure. If it still doesn't work, an operator can turn on debug logging in the admin menu and ask us on Discord with the content log.
Does it work on consoles, phones and Realms?
Yes, everywhere Bedrock runs. See Installing for consoles and Realms.
Will I lose Xbox achievements?
Not with the standard edition: it needs no experiments, and Xbox achievements keep unlocking. The Beta edition needs the Beta APIs experiment, and a world with an experiment on doesn't award Xbox achievements. That's Minecraft's rule, and Beta APIs can't be turned off again, so it's for good.
Can I switch between Standard and Beta?
Yes. Progress is shared: add or remove the Beta Features pack. Beta APIs stay on once turned on, though.
The creator
Do I need an account?
No. The creator works in your browser and saves your project there. An account (sign in with Discord) is only for publishing, rating and commenting.
Where is my project saved?
In this browser, automatically. To keep a copy or move to another computer, use File → Save project file and open it later with File → Open.
Can I edit a pack I exported?
Yes. Open the project file, or open the exported .mcpack/.mcaddon itself with File → Open. Export again and the version goes up, so Minecraft updates it.
Can my advancements use items from my own add-on?
Yes. Add your add-on under Your add-ons: its items, blocks and mobs join the pickers and its textures show in the preview.
Why does my pack's tab not show up?
With the tab's Reveal set to As you go, like Java, a tab appears once its first advancement is done, as in Java. Set it to First advancement shown (Advanced mode) to show where the tree begins from the start: new tabs in the creator use that. It needs BedrockAdvancements 2.0.1 or later.
Community
Can I change a pack after publishing?
Yes. Open it in the creator from its page (Edit in the creator) and publish again: it becomes a new version, and ratings and comments stay.
What's a remix?
Your own copy of someone else's pack. It gets new ids, so both can be installed side by side, and its page links back to the original. Every published pack is MIT licensed, so remixing is always allowed.
Can I reupload or change BedrockAdvancements itself?
No. The add-on is free but not open source: please link to its download page instead of reuploading it, and don't publish changed copies. You can use it in your worlds, Realms, servers and maps, show it in videos, and make add-ons that work with it. Community packs are different: they're MIT licensed, so remix away.
